A real-life example: clean solar panels for our client in Amsterdam!
The solar rooftop of a major logistics service provider in the Port of Amsterdam was found to be underperforming — based on an analysis of the production data using Solar Asset Management. On-site, our service engineers discovered that the solar panels were heavily soiled with seagull droppings. A real challenge, as the roof of this logistics provider is over thirty meters high.
What’s the impact for the customer when their solar panels are clean again?
In consultation with the logistics service provider, we coordinated when access to the roof would be possible without disrupting business operations — both for inspections and for the cleaning work.
The supply of osmosis water to the rooftop was also an important point of attention during this process.
The impact of clean solar panels?
The solar panels were thoroughly cleaned and are now operating at full capacity again.
At the same time, the system was fully inspected and minor repairs were carried out — resolving the issue entirely.
Everday recommended taking preventive measures to avoid future issues. With experience in various bird deterrent solutions, a laser setup was chosen in this case to scare off the seagulls.
This proved to be an effective solution — the panels have not been soiled by seagulls again.
